Dr. Nitin Vasantrao Changole

(Associate Professor History Department)

Shri Shivaji Education Society was founded in order to provide access to Higher Education to the common people in the 1932 Dr. Panjabrao alias Bhausaheb Deshmukh with his hard work and dedication established this Society. Shri Shivaji Arts College, the first College of the Society was started in 1946.. Dr Jwalaprasad was appointed as the first Principal of the College. He was man of academic excellence and a philosopher who was awarded Ph.D from Central University in the year 1931. He was working as a faculty member of Philosophy at King Edward College, Amravati which is now named as G.V.I.S.H-Government Vidarbha Institute of Science & Humanities, Amravati, which was established in 1923 . It was the only Educational Institution providing education to the people in the Warhad region of Maharashtra. After a span of 23 years our institution came into existence. In 1972 History for the B.A students was started of which Shri. Dhawale was the first faculty member joining the institution. After him Dr Aruna A. Raut carried out the work of Head of the department in 2009. At this moment Dr. Nitin Vasantrao Changole is the Head of the department with good academic and leadership. In the year 2021-2022 the institution has received permission to start MA in History and the department is eager to start it for the welfare of the students and its stakeholders. The institution has good enrolment of students for UG/PG. There is Ph.D Research centre for the Ph.D. aspiring students. The Management, the Principal are enthusiastic and are always eager to help the department for its Academic, Infrastructure enhancement.
